Tired of waiting forever on a hold list to get the hottest new releases? Think there’s never anything new on the shelf at your library? The Rapid Reads program at Fayetteville Free Library officially begins today, and is an answer to those complaints. The new titles in this collection are not used to fill holds; instead, they wait on the shelf until you come in and check them out. To keep these items moving, books are loaned for 7 days, and movies are loaned for 3. Returned items go right back to the Rapid Reads shelf for other patrons.

Come in and browse our selection of the newest, best-selling books and movies, like I Feel Bad About My Neck, Plum Lovin’, Pirates of the Carribean 2, and Little Miss Sunshine. More new titles will be added to the collection as they are released. Stop in and see what’s on the shelf!

Rapid Reads at Fayetteville

The Rapid Reads collection will begin this month at the Fayetteville Free Library. Initiated by the Liverpool Public Library, this program is designed to give our patrons quicker access to the newest books and movies.

Rapid Reads items are kept in-house and may be checked out by visitors to the Fayetteville Free Library. These items are not used to fill holds. Books may be checked out for 7 days, movies for 3, with no grace period or renewals. The items must be returned directly to Fayetteville Free Library.

If you check out a Rapid Read item you have been on hold for, please remind one of our clerks to cancel the hold for you.

Look for all the latest and most popular titles, including The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, The Innocent Man, Cross, and The Illusionist.

Rapid Reads launches January 15, 2007.
